ENDOMETRIOSIS AND IVF TREATMENT IN Delhi
What Is Endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a very common condition affecting women in their reproductive years. Its cause is still largely not understood, and this condition occurs when the endometrium (the cells that form the internal lining of the uterine cavity) forms outside the uterus–primarily on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, bowel, and pelvic tissue linings.
Endometriosis can affect women’s fertility in many ways
Normally, the endometrial lining of the endometrial cavity of the uterus is formed and shed every month during the menstrual cycle of a woman. In the disease called endometriosis, however, bleeding has no way to exit out and instead goes retrograde into the tubes/ovaries/peritoneal cavity. The woman’s immune system considers this bleeding as an “open wound,” treating it in the same way, leading to scarring, much akin to healing after a cut in the skin. Over time, these scar tissues accumulate and form some adhesions and an extreme amount of pain mostly during periods. The downside is that if it affects the tubes, this might negatively affect fertility, setting the stage for the need for infertility treatments.

This Condition Affects Fertility in Many Ways!

According to studies endometriosis affects 5–10% of women globally. The severity may vary from woman to woman, but it continues to be one of the most prevalent causes of infertility in women. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can preserve fertility.
What are the Causes of Endometriosis?

Hormonal Influences :- It has been established that the female hormone estrogen can contribute to the growth of endometriosis.
High levels of estrogen can cause more severe endometriosis and increased symptoms.
Genetics :- Endometriosis frequently runs in families. If your mother or sister had endometriosis, you could have a risk of up to six times higher than others who do not have a family member with endometriosis.
Menstrual Period Concerns:- Some women have retrograde (backward) menstrual flow, in which the menstrual blood flows backward through the fallopian tube into the pelvic cavity.
If this backward flow occurs, endometrial cells can implant in the pelvic region, resulting in endometriosis.
Environmental Exposures :- Inutero exposure to plastics, industrial chemicals, toxins, and harmful compounds may increase the risk of later developing endometriosis
